I Have Been Feeling Badass

Goal: Less words equals greater action

I still have my ups and downs with my mood swings sometimes, but overall, I am doing way better. I am waking up with that “killer” animal/male masculine energy – excited to take on the world and get some stuff done. I have also not stayed out late and partied hard like I was a month ago. For the time, I think that was necessary. But now, I am back in the stage of: sharpening my mind and body.

WINS:

  • Exercise:
    • Biking: 8mi Saturday and Sunday; 3.5mi yesterday; 13.5 mi today
    • Running: 4mi Monday
    • Walking: down since I’ve been biking more; however, Monday was a combined walk/run distance of 13.5mi
    • Weighted Calisthenics: my numbers are only going up… moving to a 35lb plate next week for pullups and dips… more reps on Planche pushups and inverted rows. Handstands and L-sits are easier, and I can do them for longer.
  • Bartending: interviewed last Thurs and “staged”/shadowed a shift yesterday – I’m unsure if they will hire me, but I had a killer time. If I don’t hear anything back by the end of the week, then I’ll go back to applying to more bars
  • Desk job: worked less hours since I’ve almost finished up a big task; I needed some more time to myself
  • Clothes/Style: bought new clothes for bartending/exercise – the fit is GREAT since I have lost weight (looks like a slimfit, tailored look)… I look and feel the best that I ever have in my life
  • Guitar: new guitar… way better than my old junk ones… practice/lessons are getting better, and I have been inspired more lately by listening to a lot of country/southern rock/indie
  • Journaling/Meditation: has been great… my mind is more at peace

** I have paused a little on Dancing and Photography lately due to other commitments. That said, I went out dancing Saturday and plan to go Thursday. Sunday, I took some photos of street art and edited them to post on Instagram. Unfortunately, I did not know that Instagram auto-crops (aka fucks up) pictures… but I will keep working on that.

Room for Improvement – But Giving Myself some Credit:

  • Food: I took advantage of some post-holiday candy sales… I had a few binges, but I have kept them more moderately lately. <– CREDIT: Thankfully, my high activity has balanced these out, and I am still loosing fat (1 millimeter per each body part per my fat caliper) while gaining weight (+1lb so far)… This is small, but still a good trend in the right direction.
  • Emotions: I have had some sad and angry days, especially last night after not feeling like my bartending “stage” went well. <– CREDIT: Meditation and journaling have helped me rebound quicker than I usually would. Exercise helps me a lot as well… and now I feel greater positive emotions than my recent neutral/negative ones.
